At WorldShopping, the charges to you are divided into two. The first is at the time of order, and the second is after the products arrive at the WorldShopping warehouse. The content and timing of each payment differ.
Why it is divided into two
The international shipping fee is calculated based on the actual weight and size of the products. For this reason, the exact amount is not finalized until the products arrive at the WorldShopping warehouse and are weighed.
For this reason, WorldShopping divides the charges into fees that can be finalized at the time of order (the first) and fees that are finalized after arrival at the warehouse (the second).

※ Depending on the destination country or region and the shipping method, in addition to the above, Destination country’s import tax (VAT, GST, Sales and Use Tax) or customs duties (in the case of DDP; Delivered Duty Paid) may be included in the second payment. For details, see "Fees that may apply in addition to the payment to WorldShopping" below.
First payment (at the time of order)
When your order is confirmed, the following fees are charged.
- Product price: The selling price set by the shop (includes Japanese consumption tax)
- Shipping fee to WorldShopping warehouse: The shipping fee from the shop to the WorldShopping warehouse
- Proxy purchasing service fee: 10% of the total amount paid to the shop (product price + shipping fee to WorldShopping warehouse)
Second payment (after arrival at the warehouse)
After the products arrive at the WorldShopping warehouse and the international shipping fee is finalized, WorldShopping will send you a notification email. Please open the Order Details Page via the URL in the email and complete the payment of the following fees (if you are a registered member, you can also access this from the Order History on My Page).
- International shipping fee: The amount varies depending on the weight and size of the products, the destination country, and the shipping method
- International shipping handling fee: 500 JPY per package. It applies to all packages regardless of the destination country or region
- International shipping insurance fee: Depending on the product price, it may not apply
Once you complete the second payment, WorldShopping ships the products to your destination country.
Fees that may apply in addition to the payment to WorldShopping
The first and second payments above are fees paid to WorldShopping. Depending on the destination country or region, customs duties or Destination country’s import tax may apply in addition. These taxes differ in their payment method and timing.
Customs duties
Based on the laws of the destination country, customs duties may apply to products arriving from overseas. Customs duties are a tax paid to the government of the destination country and are not received by WorldShopping.
The way customs duties are paid is divided into two options, depending on the shipping method.
- DDU (Delivered Duty Unpaid): When the product arrives, you pay the local carrier or customs directly. Most orders use this method.
- DDP (Delivered Duty Paid): For eligible orders, WorldShopping receives the amount from you at the second payment and remits it to the local government on your behalf. In principle, no additional payment occurs when the product arrives.

Destination country’s import tax
Depending on the destination country or region, Destination country’s import tax (such as VAT, GST, or Sales and Use Tax) applies. Destination country’s import tax is a tax paid to the government of the destination country and is not received by WorldShopping.
For eligible countries and regions, WorldShopping receives it from you at the second payment and remits it to the local government on your behalf. However, when the order amount exceeds a certain amount in Australia or the United Kingdom, WorldShopping does not collect it, and you will pay the carrier directly upon receiving the product.

The overall payment flow
Exception — Paying once with one-click payment
For some products and some shops, you can use "one-click payment" to pay the product price and international shipping fee together in a single payment.
With one-click payment, you pay all fees upfront at the time of order, so there is no second payment.
For eligible products, a "one-click payment supported" notice is shown in the WorldShopping cart.
Points to note about one-click payment
- Currently, only some products and some shops are eligible
- For one-click payment products, the "Package Consolidation” service cannot be used
- Customs duties and Destination country’s import tax are not included. Depending on the destination country, additional fees may apply when the product arrives
