For products arriving from overseas, based on the laws of the destination country, customs duties or destination country’s import tax (VAT, GST, Sales and Use Tax) may apply. These are taxes paid to the government of the destination country and are not received by WorldShopping. You either pay them locally when the product arrives, or WorldShopping collects them from you at the second payment and remits them to the local government on your behalf (the conditions vary depending on the type of tax and the destination country).
What are customs duties?
Customs duties are a tax that the destination country imposes on the person who receives the package (the importer) for products arriving from overseas.
The amount varies depending on the laws of the destination country, the type of product, and the product price. WorldShopping does not determine the amount; the customs authority of the destination country decides it.
What is destination country’s import tax?
Depending on the destination country or region, destination country’s import tax (such as VAT, GST, or Sales and Use Tax) applies separately. Currently, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, the United Kingdom, and eligible states in the United States are covered.
For eligible countries and regions, WorldShopping collects it from you at the second payment and remits it to the local government on your behalf. However, when the order amount exceeds a certain amount in Australia or the United Kingdom, WorldShopping does not collect it, and you will pay the carrier directly when you receive the product.

Breakdown of the fees you pay
The fees you pay when using WorldShopping are as follows.
Fees paid to WorldShopping (first and second payments)
Fees that apply to all orders
- Product price, Shipping fee to WorldShopping warehouse, Proxy service fee (first payment)
- International shipping fee, international shipping handling fee, international shipping insurance fee (second payment)
Taxes included in the second payment depending on the order conditions
These taxes are collected by WorldShopping from you and remitted to the local government on your behalf.
- Customs duties (only if DDP(Delivered Duty Paid) is selected)
- Destination country’s import tax (only for eligible countries and regions)
Fees paid locally when the product arrives
These are fees you pay directly to the local carrier or customs when the product arrives in the destination country. If WorldShopping has collected the tax at the second payment, in principle no additional payment occurs when the product arrives.
- Customs duties (in the case of DDU(Delivered Duty Unpaid)): Most orders pay customs duties this way
- Destination country’s import tax (certain countries and conditions): You may pay the carrier directly
How to pay customs duties in advance (DDP(Delivered Duty Paid))
For orders that meet the conditions, you can select DDP (Delivered Duty Paid).
If you select DDP, WorldShopping collects the customs duties from you at the second payment and remits them to the local government on your behalf. Therefore, in principle no additional payment of customs duties occurs when the product arrives.
